Target Audience Statement PS2

The message I want to get across to my audience is that safety is important and making sure to buckle your seatbelt can save your life. If you don’t though, cops are cracking down on it and you will get a ticket for violating the law. I want the audience to be aware of how important a seatbelt is the next time they get in a car and to make sure they do not forget about it. It will cost them money or even a life.
My intended audience is everyone past the age of infancy. Infants are secured in their own car seats in the back seat of cars by their parents so they are not a concern for being secure in a car. People who are making a daily commute to a job are the primary target since they are driving nearly everyday. It applies to males and females and income is not relevant to riding in a car.
I initially wanted to find a sports car driving fast but decided against that because most people do not have sports cars and using your seatbelt applies to any type of car. Also, I thought having a sports car would be aiming more at an upper class type of people who are wealthy enough to afford one. I think the SUV does a good job of applying the average person. The cop staring straight at you in a serious manner gets the point of across that they you run the risk of getting a ticket if you do not buckle up.
